For years, we’ve been told that oil is a no-no for healthy skin. Many beauty companies have touted their products as “oil free,” but are we missing out on the powerful benefits of oils?

Plants and their seeds are power-packed with many non-comedogenic (don’t clog your pores) oils that can radically transform skin’s appearance and hydration. Oils from camellia, hemp seed, marula, jojoba, grapeseed, rosehip, olive, sunflower, sea buckthorn, and argan can provide deep-skin penetration without causing acne or congestion! And, they can protect from environmental impacts like pollution, UV exposure, and dry air!

With the winter months coming, our skin often begins crying out for a deeper, more powerful form of moisture. Oils are a powerful part of a healthy skin care routine! Yes, lotions and serums are great for overall hydration, but oils go beyond what lotions and serums can do. Oils can help with things like scar fading, anti-aging, skin smoothing, sebum balancing, and more!

From ancient times, people have been using oils to hydrate and heal the skin and body. Naturally-produced oils are fantastic for keeping skin cells hydrated, repairing damaged cells, and making the skin look smooth. Some oils come from plants – specifically flowers, roots, or herbs – and are called “fragrant plant oils.” The other two types of oils are “non-fragrant plant oils” and “synthetic oils.” The goal of any face oil is to seal in water, which will hydrate and soften the skin.
